Description: I never really thought of myself as a flower person, until I took a step away from my art. I guess that is because I don’t see flowers in the traditional sense of femininity. To me, flowers bring life to the room – energy – color – vibrancy! They take me to a different place in time just like music. Flowers can evoke emotions and memories. When I paint a flower, I want to capture that emotion and energy with my brush. I am not concerned with painting the details of the flower but instead, it’s essence. Cheers to my muse! |

Description: During our six month journey throughout the United States, Derek & I came upon one of the most amazing views – miles and miles of Sunflower fields. The flowers created this yellow hue in the air, which we could see from miles away. We stopped the car at a field entrance and walked into the middle of the field to take pictures. Those photos were among a lost series for us – so I find myself painting my memories of the different sunflowers we viewed together. |
